There are several signs that the immune system is winning the battle against pathogens:

Reduction of symptoms: If the symptoms such as fever, fatigue, and pain start to reduce, it is an indication that the immune system is fighting and winning against the pathogens.
Increase in energy levels: As the body's immune system fights against the pathogens, the individual may experience an increase in energy levels.
Return to normal activities: If an individual is able to return to their normal activities, it is a sign that the immune system is effectively fighting and defeating the pathogens.
Negative test results: A negative result on a test for the specific pathogen can indicate that the immune system has successfully fought off the infection.
These are some of the ways that one can determine if the immune system is winning the battle against pathogens

Answer:

Well first of all it is important to know that the immune response is a defense and when an antigen (aka a pathogen) enters the body, the immune system produces antibodies against it. Usually when one for instance experiencing a cold, sneezes that is the immune system creating a reaction and is basically kicking the virus out of your nose.
