well, is three friends so each Nintendo is $500, so that's 3*500 = $1500 total, now let's add the 10% tax to that

\begin{array} \cline{1-1} \textit{\textit{\LARGE a}\% of \textit{\LARGE b}}\\ \cline{1-1} \\ \left( \cfrac{\textit{\LARGE a}}{100} \right)\cdot \textit{\LARGE b} \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}~\hspace{5em}\stackrel{\textit{10\% of 1500}}{\left( \cfrac{10}{100} \right)1500}\implies 150~\hfill \underset{\textit{total for all}}{\stackrel{1500~~ + ~~150}{\text{\LARGE 1650}}}
