What is the rule for the following geometric sequence? 64, -32, 16, -8...

If we look at the numbers carefully, every successive number is half of the number before it. 32 is half of 64, 16 is half of 32 and so on. This means to get the next number we need to divide the previous number by 2. So the next term will be : 8 divided by 2 or half of 8 = 4.
