Jada's Coffee Shop can make lattes with either whole milk or nonfat milk. On Saturday, Jada's Coffee Shop went through 1/3 of a carton of whole milk and 1/5 of a carton of nonfat milk. How much more whole milk was used than nonfat milk?

Answer:

Jada's Coffee Shop used 1/3 of a carton of whole milk and 1/5 of a carton of nonfat milk on Saturday. Therefore, the amount of whole milk used was 2/3 of a carton, and the amount of nonfat milk used was 1/5 of a carton. The difference between the two is 2/3 - 1/5, which is equal to 7/15 of a carton. Therefore, Jada's Coffee Shop used 7/15 of a carton more whole milk than nonfat milk.
