A social issue that is close to my heart is gender discrimination which we can say is the restriction made on the basis of sex as I have seen maximum examples of it.
men and women each are equal and play a paramount position in society still women are discriminated against everywhere even at the international level. In India, women had been considered an oppressed section of society and were ignored for hundreds of years.
major factors behind gender discrimination:
Socially
1- dowry: the dowry system in India contributes to gender inequalities at a higher level with the belief that girls are a burden on families.
2-education: women are given less preference in higher education than men so it then contributes to gender discrimination.
Economically
1-property rights: although girls have equal rights under the law to personal belongings, in exercise, ladies are at a disadvantage and thus not getting their own property.
2-credit access: there are large disparities between women and men in terms of credit access in the banking sector due to a lack of collateral security offered by women.
