Original Equation:

(3)/(4) + x < (1)/(6)

1) Subtract 3/4 from both sides:

((3)/(4)+x)-(3)/(4) < (1)/(6)-(3)/(4)

2) Simplify:

x < (1)/(6)-(3)/(4)

Find a common denominator for both fractions (I will use 12)

x < (2)/(12) -(9)/(12)

Simplify:

x < (-7)/(12)

We cannot simplify the expression anymore, therefore this is the answer!
