Answer: The slope is 1

Step-by-step explanation: The slope of 2 lines can be solved by rise over run or basiclly the change in y over the change in x. This can be represented by:

(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

Given the the points, we can plug in the values into each variable.

The y values of the point represent the second value and the x value is the first number so in (-5, -6), -6 represents the y and -5 represents x.

For (-7, -8), y is -8 and x is -7

Plugging in the values you get:

(-8-(-6))/(-7-(-5))

Make sure if you set the point as (x1, y1) or (x2,y2) and not (x1,y2) or (x2,y1), the number has to be consistant.

If you solve you get:

-2/-2 = slope

2/2 = slope

1 = slope

so the slope is 1.

Hope this helps!
