When a temperature decreases in a reaction, this means the reaction is slowing down. When the reaction slows down, the particles aren’t colliding as much and therefore a decreased collision theory since there isn’t much left of a reactant to react to. If you mixed this reaction, then the particles would collide more, probably generating more heat since its particles are reacting, which is exothermic.
