Explanation:

So lets start with finding the decimal value for 3/4

3/4= 0.75

Now just add the -1 in front

-1.75

Then do the same thing for 1/4

1/4=0.25

Then add the -1 to the front

-1.25

Now to compare -1.75 and -1.25

On a number line -1.75 is further from 0 then -1.25 so....

-1 3/4 < -1 1/4
