Explanation:


y = ax^(n) where a is a constant


(dy)/(dx) = anx^(n-1)

Applying the above mentioned concept:


y = x^(2) -1x^(-1)


(dy)/(dx) = 2x^(2-1) - 1 [(-1)(x^(-1-1))]


= 2x +1(x^(-2) )


(dy)/(dx) = 2x +(1)/(x^(2) )
