a^2+b^2=c^2. a and b are the legs, and c Is the hypotenuse. Looking at the figure, we are only given the legs, and asked to find the hypotenuse. All we have to do is to substitute and solve.


10^2+11^2=c^2 [exponent]


100+121=c^2 [add]


221=c^2 [square root both sides]

After plugging this into the calculator, we get 14.9, rounded.
