Just curious...if your first language English or a different language? That will also impact your reading and vocab skills

Here are some quick tips, though. I use most of these personally, so I know that they'll help.

Set a reading goal: Set a daily or weekly reading goal for yourself, and make sure to stick to it. This will help you develop a reading habit and increase your reading speed and comprehension.

Read a variety of materials: Reading different types of materials, such as fiction, non-fiction, newspapers, and magazines, can help you improve your vocabulary and comprehension skills.

Use a dictionary: When you come across an unfamiliar word, look it up in a dictionary. This will help you expand your vocabulary and improve your understanding of the text.

Take notes: While reading, take notes on important points and new vocabulary words. This will help you remember what you've read and make it easier to review later.

Practice active reading: Active reading involves actively engaging with the text, asking questions, and making connections. This will help you understand the text better and retain more information.

Read out loud: Reading out loud can help you improve your pronunciation and comprehension skills.

Take online reading quizzes and tests: Test yourself on your reading comprehension, vocabulary and other reading skills by taking online quizzes and tests.

Join a book club: Joining a book club can help you stay motivated and accountable to your reading goals, while also giving you the opportunity to discuss what you've read with others.

Give yourself time to read: Make sure to give yourself enough time to read, without interruptions, this will help you focus and enjoy the reading experience.

Remember that reading and vocabulary improvement is a long-term process and consistency is key. Keep reading, keep challenging yourself and don't be afraid to make mistakes, you'll see progress over time. As someone who used to hate reading, I found that it was easier to stay focused when I chose something I was actually interested in. I am now an active reader and take out a minimum of 10 books from the library at any time

I hope this helps!
