If I go up a flight of stairs two at a time I get to the top without any being left over. If I then try three at a time and again five at a time, I still get to the top without any being left over. Find the shortest flight of stairs for which this is possible. How many would remain if I were to go up this flight seven at a time?

Answer:

30 stairs

Explanation:

30 / 2 = 15

30 / 3 = 10

30 / 5 = 6

All are whole numbers representing how many steps you have to take at the rate you are climbing
