The whole decimal is 2,280.42328
You have to divide 43,100 by 18.9

well, the total is "x", which oddly enough is the 100%.

now, we know that 18.9% of "x" is 43100, what the dickens is "x"?

\begin{array}{ccll} amount&\%\\ \cline{1-2} x & 100\\ 43100& 18.9 \end{array} \implies \cfrac{x}{43100}~~=~~\cfrac{100}{18.9} \\\\\\ 18.9x=4310000\implies x=\cfrac{4310000}{18.9}\implies x\approx 228042
