Question 1:

(2)/(3) n-16=-(5)/(6)n+2, solve for n.

(2)/(3) n-16=-(5)/(6)n+2

=>
(2)/(3) n=-(5)/(6)n+18

=>
(2)/(3) n+(5)/(6)n=18 =>
(4)/(6) n+(5)/(6)n=18

=>
(9)/(6) n=18 =>
(3)/(2) n=18

=>
n=18((2)/(3))

=>
n=6(2)

Sol: n=12

Question 2:

5-(1)/(3)p=(4)/(9)p+12, solve for p.

5-(1)/(3)p=(4)/(9)p+12

=>
5=(4)/(9)p+(1)/(3)p+12

=>
5=(4)/(9)p+(3)/(9)p+12

=>
5=(7)/(9)p+12

=>
-7=(7)/(9)p

=>
-7((9)/(7)) =p

=>
-(9)=p

Sol: p=-9
