Here we are given a right angled triangle in which there are two unknown angles x and y . we need to find out the values of x and y. Firstly, as we know that the angle sum property of a triangle is 180° . So that,

\longrightarrow x + y +90^o = 180^o\\

\longrightarrow x + y = 180^o -90^o = 90^o \dots \\

\longrightarrow y = 90^o - x \dots (i) \\

And we also have,

\longrightarrow 4x + 40 = y \\

from equation (i) , we have ,

\longrightarrow 4x + 40 = 90 - x \\

\longrightarrow 4x + x = 90 +40 \\

\longrightarrow 5x = 130\\

\longrightarrow x =(130)/(5)\\

\longrightarrow \underline{\underline{x = 26^o}} \\

substitute this value in equation (i) ,

\longrightarrow y = 90 - 26 \\

\longrightarrow \underline{\underline{y = 64^o}} \\

And we are done!
