here we are given a triangular prism and we are interested in finding its surface area .

The given prism comprises of 2 triangular faces and 3 rectangular faces . We can separately find the area and then add them up to find the resultant surface area.

Finding area of triangle:-

There are 2 triangles so the total area would be ,

Area = 2(ar. of one ∆)

Area = 2 ( 1/2 * base * height)

Area = 2 ( 1/2 * 16m * 5m )

Area = 80m²

Finding area of rectangle:-

Area = 3 ( length* breadth)

Area= 3 ( 17m * 10m)

Area = 3 * 170m²

Area = 510m²

Total area,

Net Surface area= area of rectangle+ area of triangle= (80+510)m² = 590m² [ required answer]

And we are done!
