So:

1st side = 2x+6

2nd side = x

3rd side = x+8

These sides all equal to 54 ft (perimeter)

2x+6 + x + x+8 = 54

4x + 14 = 54

4x = 40

x = 10

Now that we know the shortest side just sub it back into the equations!
