x-y=2

to find the x-intercept/zero. substitute y=0

x-0=2

x=2

y=2x-4

move the variable to the left handed side.

-2x=-4-y

divide both sides by -2

x=2+1/2y

use commutative property to reorder the terms.

x=1/2y+2
