| x + 1 | ≥ 16

Inequalities of the type | ax + b | ≥ c , have solutions of the form

ax + b ≤ - c or ax + b ≥ c , then

x + 1 ≤ - 16 ( subtract 1 from both sides )

x ≤ - 17

or

x + 1 ≥ 16 ( subtract 1 from both sides )

x ≥ 15

solution is x ≤ - 17 or x ≥ 16
