How can you use a rate to compare the costs of two boxes of cereal that are different sizes?

You can find the unit rate for each cereal an see which one is a better deal. You divide and quantity of cereal by the price.

Say one box of cereal has 100 ounces and it cost $4.50 and another box of cereal has 150 ounces for $5.25

4.50/100 = .045 cents per ounce the other box would be

5.25/150 = .035 cents per ounce.

1800/25 = 72
