Answer:

Reduction can be explained in simple terms like gaining electrons in an atom or gaining hydrogen and eliminating oxygen. For example, oxygen is replaced by hydrogen in every reaction, this is referred to as reduction.

It is the movement of electrons between two different elements in a chemical substance; this transfer is facilitated by the acquisition of electrons or by reducing the oxidation state of the element. This reduction reaction always aims to increase the number of electrons bound to a single atom or group of atoms.

This is a classic form of the redox reaction. The burning of organic materials and hydrocarbons is a form of redox reaction. During combustion, oxygen is reduced while the burned compounds oxidize.
