Question

Most of novel plots have the time when someone left protagonist once cuz of a fight or something and cuz of that The protagonist is much more concerned when people leave without saying a word, it may sound childish but he is serious about that.

how would you explain this :

" He is scared someone important may leave him " ​

After something like that happens to a person, they probably NEVER want it to happen again. A person can get so terrified that someone they care about will leave them, that they would cut everyone off to avoid even caring for them. (I know because I suffer from this exact fear...)
