Answer: x = 1

Explanation:

5(3x-1) = 10

Use distributive property and multiply 5 times 3x and 5 times -1.

15x-5 = 10

Move -5 to the right of the equal sign making it positive.

15x = 10+5

Solve.

15x = 15

Divide both sides of the equal side by 15.

15x÷15 = 15÷15

Solve.

x=1

Hope this helps :)

\huge\text{Hey there!}

\mathsf{5(3x - 1) = 10}

\mathsf{5(3x) + 5(-1) = 10}

\mathsf{15x - 5 = 10}

\textbf{ADD 5 to BOTH SIDES}

\mathsf{15x - 5 + 5 = 10 + 5}

\textbf{SIMPLIFY it}

\mathsf{15x = 10 + 5}

\mathsf{15x = 15}

\textbf{DIVIDE 15 to BOTH SIDES}

\mathsf{(15x)/(15) = (15)/(15)}

\textbf{SIMPLIFY it}

\mathsf{x = (15)/(15)}

\mathsf{x = 1}

\huge\text{Therefore, your answer should be:}

\huge\boxed{\mathsf{x = 1}}}\huge\checkmark

\huge\text{Good luck on your assignment \& enjoy your day!}
