In the northern hemisphere, winds tend to move in a clockwise direction around low pressure systems and in a counterclockwise direction around high pressure systems. In the southern hemisphere, these directions are reversed. Additionally, winds in the northern hemisphere tend to move from west to east, while winds in the southern hemisphere tend to move from east to west.
