We first have to find a common denominator
We simply multiply both (X-2) (X)

We have to multiply both parts to get the common denominator.

(X)(X)/(X-2)(X) - (3)(X-2)/(X-2)(X)

We can now combine

(X^2 - 3X + 6)/(X-2)(X)
