Answer:

f^-1(x) = (x+8)/4

Explanation:

To find the inverse function,

FIRST, change f(x) to y.

f(x)=4x-8

y = 4x - 8

SECOND, switch the x and the y.

x = 4y - 8

NEXT, solve for y.

x = 4y - 8

add 8 to both sides.

x + 8 = 4y

divide both sides by 4.

(x+8)/4 = y

LAST, rewrite using f^-1(x) in place of y

f^-1(x) = (x+8)/4

If you have better functionality (than me typing on my phone) use a -1 exponent beside the f. Also, put the x+8 on top of the fraction with the 4 on the bottom of the fraction. Then you won't need the parenthesis around the x+8
