So first, you want to have one of the variables able to cancel out when you add the equations together.

To do this, divide the second equation by two

2x+2y=4

divide by 2

x+y=2

Next, get the variables on the same side on the both equations, so the second thing you do is add x to both sides on the top equation

y=-x+3

+x +x

y+x=3

Now you times one of them by -1 so a variable will cancle out.

y+x=3

x+y=2

*-1

y+x=3

-x-y=-2

Since all the variables cancel out, there is no solution
