The impact of social media on young teens can be a huge contributed to teen anxiety and depression. Most teens take hours out of their day just to browse these addicting and brain-gnawing apps. The way that you control your time management on social media can be a big benefactor to your mental health. If you spend too much time scrolling through pointless posts that are made to bring down your own self esteem, you will become more depressed as the days go on. According to Mayo Clinic, “However, social media use can also negatively affect teens, distracting them, disrupting their sleep, and exposing them to bullying, rumor spreading, unrealistic views of other people's lives and peer pressure. The risks might be related to how much social media teens use.” Therefore, I think that it is vital for my peers, including me, to limit the usage of social media that we consume on the daily.

Answer:

Seeing other people doing things that you aren't, or are "better than you" can cause someone to feel bad about themselves. Also instances of online bullying can have major consequences.
