Using elimination method;

Adding both equation:

-4x+4x+5y+6y=17+(-6)

11y= 17-6

11y=11

y=11/11

substitute y into equation (i) or (ii);

4x+6(1)=-6

4x+6=-6

4x=-6-6

4x=-12

x=-12/4

x=-3
