BC = 5x + 5

b1 = AD

b2 = BC

`EF = (AD + BC)/(2)`

`2x \: + 8 = (4 + 5x + 5)/(2)`

`4x + 16 = 5x + 9`

`5x - 4x = 16 - 9`

`x = 5`

so if we put in value of x in EF

we get,

EF = 2x + 8 = 2(2) + 8 = 4 + 8 = 12
