One way that the human immune system responds to an invading pathogen associated with handling a hedgehog is by the white blood cell will engulf and destroy pathogens.

We can associate this response to a humoral response in which our immune system will create an antibody and this antigen-antibody complex will detect a foreign body or pathogen and they will destroy it through phagocytosis.
