Here goes 3 contention commonly cited by western Critics

1) In certain Muslim nations, women are not allowed to vote or hold office, leaving them legally vulnerable and open to exploitation and prejudice.

2) It is believed by the Critics that the deployment of Sharia law to female victims of sexual misconduct is particularly anti-woman. In some countries and areas, a raped woman can still be sentenced if it is assumed she did not fight back sufficiently, as if she were willing. These ladies have even stoned to death in some situations.

3) Some believe that the most severe Muslim civilizations demand women to wear the Burqa, which completely covers them from head to toe and allows only a small amount of light through holes in the fabric. While most Muslim countries wear the Hijab, or head covering, they feel that the Burqa is a form of female oppression.
