According to Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care, caregivers are not allowed to admit a child for care if the illness prevents the child from participating comfortably in child care center activities, if the illness results in a greater need for care than the caregivers can provide without compromising the care of other children or if the child has an oral temperature of above 101 degrees and accompanied by behavior changes or other signs and symptoms of illness. All of these conditions are reasons that a child should not be admitted for care according to the Texas Minimum Standards.
