Answer: Force = 0.05N

Explanation: As the clay boat is floating therefore the upward force that the water is exerting on boat is equal to the weight of the boat, so they remain in vertical equilibrium⇒ net downward force = net upward force.

Mass of the boat (M) = 0.005 kg

Gravitational acceleration = 10 m/
s^(2)

Upward force = Weight of the boat = M×g = 0.005× 10 = 0.05 N
