Slope Formula:

Take any 2 points on the line and plug in:


(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

y-intercept

y-intercept is the y-value of the line when it intersects with the y-axis, or the y-value of the line when the x-value of the line is 0.

Form

y = mx + b

y and x stay as variables when graphing the equation and are only substituted when solving for values such as the x-intercept.

m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.
