The operation you would use to solve
6y=10 is division because we want to get the variable by itself. We use division because it' is the inverse of multiplication. So to solve
6y=10, I would be dividing.


6y=10

Divide both sides by 6(get the variable by itself):


(6y)/(6) =(10)/(6)


=1.666667
