Why were the 1920s filled with political, social, and economic extremes?

There are many reasons for this, but I will only be listing three.

1. There were many changes in behavior and how they did things back then. It went from a more severe era to something more laid back and less strict. Now that the 19th amendment was passed, giving women the right to vote there would be people opposing that new freedom. That caused a major uproar back then.

2. A lot of cultures are getting mixed togeather and people are immigrating to US. Most white people back then still had a racist mindset. With POC moving into some neighborhoods and citys they got mad. Race riots started and some races were getting shot, evicted from their homes, and more.

3. president Hoover cause a lot of problems. In the late '20s and early 30`s a great depression started, and instead of trying to help the people he believed it was best that the government did not interfere, witch, caused the depression to become more extreme.
