The Paleolithic period lasted for around 2.5 million years because it covered the time from when humans first made stone tools to the start of agriculture. This period was also a time of significant evolutionary changes for humans.

Because then they discovered bronze working and making things. Also it needed because because during that time humans were learning how to keep domestic livestock and raise crops. They were not dependent on hunting. It took a long time for use to learn
