x = 60 , y = 85

Explanation:

assuming the figure is a trapezoid

• each lower base angle is supplementary to the upper base angle on the same side.

x + 2x = 180

3x = 180 ( divide both sides by 3 )

x = 60

and

y + y + 10 = 180

2y + 10 = 180 ( subtract 10 from both sides )

2y = 170 ( divide both sides by 2 )

y = 85
