To make iced coffee, Sara puts her hot coffee into a refrigerator when it’s temperature is at 130 ℉ . The temperature of the coffee drops 4 ½ ℉ each hour. What is the temperature of the coffee after 5 hours?

If the coffee starts a 130 degrees and it cools if 4 1/2 degrees an hour and is in the fridge for 5 hours so 5 X 4 1/2 and that equals 22 1/2 so you would subtract 130 by 22 1/2 which would equal 107 1/2 degrees or 107.5 degrees

To solve this all you need to do is multiply 4 1/2 x 5 and then subtract the Sun by 130°F. So 4 1/2×5 equals 22.5. 130-22.5=107.5. so the temperature of the coffee after five hours is 107.5°F.
