Answer:

  • The y-intercept is (0, 8)

According the the table the slope is:

  • m = (12 - 4)/(1 - (-1)) = 8/2 = 4

Use slope-intercept form:

  • y = mx + b, where b is the y-intercept

And substitute one of the ordered pairs, to find the value of b:

  • 4 = 4(-1) + b
  • 4 = - 4 + b
  • b = 4 + 4
  • b = 8

The y-intercept is (0, 8).
