The general equation of line passing through points (x_1,y_1) and (x_2,y_2) is,

y-y_1=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)(x-x_1)

Determine the equation of line for the points (10,2) and (2,-2).

\begin{gathered} y-2=(-2-2)/(2-10)(x-10) \\ y-2=(-4)/(-8)(x-10) \\ y-2=(1)/(2)(x-10) \\ y=(1)/(2)x-5+2 \\ y=(1)/(2)x-3 \end{gathered}

So equation of line is y = 1/2x - 3.
