THIS HAS BEEN KILLING ME!!!!!

The function y=-1/3x is reflected across the x-axis. What's the equation of the new function?
- explain step by step, please.

Check the picture below.

let's bear in mind that the -(1/3)x has a negative slope, namely going down, so a reflection over the x-axis will yield the same points pretty much, but instead of the IV Quadrant, on the I Quadrant, above, whilst the slope remains the same, it simply turns positive.
