and a file cabinet in a space that is 27 feet wide. The file cabinet takes up
3 feet. What is the width of the space available for each computer work
station?

Answer: 8 feet per work computer

Explanation: Since we start with 27 feet, and 3 feet is taken, then we have 24 feet to work with. If we want to evenly distributed the remaining space for 3 computer work stations, we can say 24 feet / 3 to get 8 feet to use for each computer work station.
