One comparison between Dutch/English colonization efforts and Iberian colonization efforts is the focus on trade and economic expansion. Both the Dutch and English focused on establishing trade routes and establishing colonies as sources of raw materials and markets for their goods. In contrast, the Iberians (Spanish and Portuguese) had a more holistic approach to colonization, focusing not only on economic expansion but also on religious conversion and cultural assimilation of the native populations.
