According to the Holocaust survivors in the video “Some Were Neighbors” how and why would so many average Germans (sometimes even former acquaintances and friends) turn on their Jewish neighbors during the rise of the Nazi party? Do you think these motives were justifiable or excusable?

I haven't watched said video, but from a historical outlook many citizens in Germany turned on their neighbors either from a fear of persecution themselves from the party, or due to propaganda propagated by the regime at the time. For the second part of your question, that's all up to opinion.
