x + y = total tickets sold
7.50x + 5y = total revenue

x + y = 250
7.50x + 5y = 3250

Substitute x + y = 250 into 7.50x + 5y = 3250
7.50(250) + 5y = 3250
1875 + 5y = 3250

Subtract 1875 from both sides
5y = 1375

Divide both sides by 5
y = 275

Substitute y = 275 into x + y = 250
x + 275 = 250
x = -25

Since x cannot be negative, the equation is not valid. Therefore, the number of tickets sold cannot be determined.
