Rachel has 13 books and some empty boxes. She can put 4 books in each box. How many boxes can she fill completely?

Answer: 3 boxes, 1 book leftover

Explanation:
- Set up a proportion using the information given. For instance, 4/1 = 13/x.
- Cross multiply. This should give you 4x = 13.
- Divide 4 on both sides to get the x alone. This should give you x = 3.25. But since you can't have 3.25 boxes, you'll have 3 boxes filled completed. If you do the math 4 books x 3 boxes that, would you 12 books meaning 12 books fit in 3 boxes. Therefore, 1 book would be left over.
