Solution

In order to find the hypotenuse of the triangle

We need to find the other sides of a right triangle

Length of the 1st side of a right triangle is connected with a square with area 144
cm^(2)

Hence in order to find the side we

√(144) = side

12 = side

Length of the second side is connected to a small square with area 25
cm^(2)

√(25) = side

5 = side

Now we can find the hypotenuse of a right triangle with the phytogorean theorem

a^(2)+ b^(2) = c^(2)

12^(2)+ 5^(2) = c^(2) \\169 = c^(2)

√(169)= c

13 = c

Hence , the hypotenuse of a right triangle is 13cm
